You’re invited! Union College welcomes the public to their opening reception for the Smithsonian’s “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America” exhibit on Wednesday, October 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Commons. RSVP information will be available soon, and light refreshments will be served.
“Voices and Votes” is based on a major exhibition currently on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. The exhibition explores the action, reaction, vision and revision that democracy demands as Americans continue to question how to shape the country. From the revolution and suffrage, to civil rights and casting ballots, everyone in every community is part of this ever-evolving story—the story of democracy in America.
Opening at Union College’s Cranford Campus on October 10, “Voices and Votes” will be on view through November 18. The exhibit is free to visit and opens at 8:30 a.m. daily.
