Virtual Meeting: Community of Practice, Community College Humanities

May 23 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

This hour-long virtual meeting and discussion will offer participants an opportunity to collectively consider the value of a humanities education, in community colleges and beyond. At the meeting, participants will be invited to spend ~10 minutes free-writing in response to the prompt, “why do the humanities matter?”. No advance preparation necessary! Just come ready to write and share your thoughts with a welcoming and supportive community of peers. Group facilitators will then invite participants to share their responses, allowing time for a shared discussion of the value of a humanities education at community colleges and beyond. We will collect our responses in a Google Doc, collaboratively drafting an informal statement of purpose for the community of practice as a whole.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. Zoom access information will be emailed with your RSVP confirmation. For additional information, please reach out to the program coordinator, Sylvester Cruz, at scruz@njhumanities.org or 609-695-4303.

To join this Community of Practice and to receive announcements about it, please fill out the COP Interest Form.
