NJCH is proud to sponsor So You Think You Know Civics?, a free series presented by the Princeton Public Library and Morven Museum & Garden that will unpack big questions about the past and present of the U.S. government, and how we can make change in our democracy.
The series will kick off on April 10 at 6:00 p.m. with a hybrid talk (in-person and online via Zoom) by Sophia Rosenfeld, the Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania and author of many books, including Democracy and Truth: A Short History (2019) and Choice: The Invention of Modern Freedom (forthcoming).
The talk will explore the history of democracy in America: Why do we have this form of government? Is the U.S. a republic or a democracy (and what is the difference)? How has democracy in the U.S. changed over time? A Q&A will follow the talk.
This event is hybrid – held both in-person in Morven’s Stockton Education Center and virtually via Zoom webinar. The event is free, but registration is required. Click here to register.
Please see below a list of upcoming programs in the series. Attendees who attend all five programs (virtually and/or in-person) will receive a free So You Think You Know Civics? t-shirt.
