The wife of industrialist Lewis Steenrod Thompson and a close friend of Eleanor Roosevelt, she was a feminist involved in social and political movements regarding prison reform, public health and juvenile justice.
Scimeca holds the rank of Professor of History at BCC and is a specialist in women’s history.
The event will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Monmouth Museum, Room MAN 105, on the BCC campus in Lincroft. In-person attendance is limited to 50, and additional attendees may join via Zoom.
