Planning for the future through legacy gifts helps to ensure a future for planning.

LEGACY GIVING

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” – Pericles

For over forty-five years, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities has provided access to and support of public humanities programs and opportunities in our state.

NJCH depends on committed donors, donors that understand the value and importance of the humanities, to ensure that the mission – to harness the power of the humanities to strengthen our pluralistic society – is furthered. Individual donations and community support directly affect the breadth and depth of programs and resources that NJCH is able to offer now and for the next generations.

ESTATE PLANNING
Legacy Program

One of the ways for you to support us is by making a planned gift as part of an estate plan.

When you express a present intention to include a planned gift to NJCH as part of your estate plan, you will be invited to join our Legacy Program. During the enrollment process, we will work with you to identify desired and fitting means of acknowledge.

NJCH has been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be a charitable organization to which all gifts may pass from a donor’s estate free of all estate taxes. Under this rule, there are many ways for you to make a gift to NJCH as part of your estate plan, including bequests, gifts of life insurance policies, gifts of tax deferred retirements plans, charitable trusts, and other planned giving options.
