The MetaForum Applied Theatre Initiative (MATI) of The Briar Patch Collaboratory (BPC) aims to develop an arts-based, living curriculum that contextualizes Black girls’ socio-political realities through exploration of history and writings from Black feminist perspectives. MATI’s approach for collaborative and experiential learning within the public humanities encourages learning through discovery that can occur in the classroom or in non-traditional settings.
