Piscataway Public Library presents “Food for Thought,” a series of events exploring the cultural and historical significance of food in our lives. Through a combination of community exhibits, workshops, presentations, and discussions, residents will delve into the meaning of food beyond nutrition. This project aims to connect community members, foster understanding, and celebrate the diverse culinary traditions within Piscataway. Key elements include: a community exhibit showcasing food-related stories, recipes, and artifacts contributed by residents; an event series offering workshops, presentations, book discussions, and film screenings exploring food and foodways; and collaborations with local experts, community members, and the municipal public television station. “Food for Thought” will provide a platform for residents to share their food-related experiences, learn from each other, and deepen their appreciation for the diverse culinary heritage within their community.
