Purpose: To support the new exhibit “The Lenape and Native Americans of New Jersey: Past and Present.”
The museum will plan The Lenni Lenape and Native Americans of New Jersey: Past and Present, an exhibit set for 2026 in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary. This exhibit will explore the history, culture, and contributions of Native Americans in New Jersey, with a special focus on the Lenni Lenape tribe. Featuring artifacts, artworks, and oral histories—alongside works by contemporary Native American artists—the exhibit aims to deepen public understanding and appreciation of Native American heritage while highlighting their enduring presence and influence in the state today.
