Location: Trenton
Website: https://120eaststate.org/
Grant Round: 2025 Round 1
Award: Incubation / $15,000
Purpose: To support the creation of an interpretive plan for the historic First Presbyterian Church and Cemetery in Trenton.
120 East State will develop its first Interpretive Plan for its National Historic Register-listed site, the location of Trenton’s first house of worship (1727). This plan will guide a five-year schedule of programs and serve as a foundation for future initiatives, enhancing public engagement and aligning with the organization’s strategic goals. A history consultant will lead research, working with volunteers to explore the site’s history from pre-European contact to the present. Public input will inform the plan, ensuring the site’s history is integrated into the broader cultural life of Trenton.
