This hour-long virtual meeting and discussion will offer participants an opportunity to discuss the impact of advances in artificial intelligence to public humanities work in community colleges and beyond. At the meeting, participants will be invited to address this theme through discussion of the pre-circulated article “The Coming Humanist Renaissance” by Adrienne LaFrance (The Atlantic, June 2023). Group facilitators will lead participants through a shared discussion of the ramifications of artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning and A.I. large-language models such as ChatGPT on humanistic endeavor in community college spaces.
