Your gift will support nonprofits across New Jersey

May 21, 2020

Dear Friend,

First and most importantly, I hope that you and your loved ones are safe in these strange and difficult times.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced so many of us, professionally and personally, to hit the pause button on our plans and pivot to manage the current conditions. NJCH was allocated $649,600 from the NEH through the CARES Act to distribute emergency funding to cultural and historical nonprofits through a competitive grant process. As an agile and responsive nonprofit, our primary purpose has now become the administration of emergency support and funding for the cultural nonprofits that serve New Jersey’s communities, as well as the organizing and convening of group discussions and webinars that will help to make those nonprofits more resilient. Our mission is now to help the cultural sector survive. In doing so, we are supporting organizations that prompt reflection and promote lifelong learning, helping to make our communities stronger. We need your help.

Please consider making a donation during this unprecedented global health crisis in order to support the organizations that enrich our communities through the public humanities. We are uniquely positioned to provide relief and recovery from the impact of the coronavirus crisis. Every dollar of your contribution to the Council, along with the CARES emergency funding, will go directly to supporting nonprofit organizations negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Your tax-deductible donation will help the Council sustain the rich network of humanities organizations that help us better understand ourselves and others. Thank you for your support.

Best,
Carin
