A thank you for supporting the humanities and arts in NJ

July 19, 2018

100%. In many instances, 100% is desirable. A perfect score, a flawless record of attendance, a unanimous decision. When something is 100%, it often conveys certainty.

Last week, when an amendment to the FY19 Interior Appropriations Bill proposed a 15% reduction in funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts, the House of Representatives had to vote on this proposed change to the bill. Here in New Jersey, we’re fortunate to have congressional delegates that support the humanities and arts. 100% of the New Jersey Congressional delegates voted against the proposed funding decrease. 100%.

As an organization that provides access to statewide public humanities programming for all New Jersey citizens, we’d like to thank the delegation for their support of public humanities and arts. Our appreciation is 100%.
