Are you a Proud Humanities Graduate? Show it!
Studying the humanities provides individuals with the skills needed to thrive across the spectrum of ever-changing career fields as well as perspectives to understand the human experience and live a life imbued with meaning. As the National Humanities Alliance communicates persuasively, humanities majors continue to earn, adapt, and attain satisfaction in careers at rates that are on-par or above peers with degrees in other disciplines.
Further, as artificial intelligence, geopolitical influences, and global forces redefine the career landscape, it may be that study in the humanities—long forsaken in favor of "technology-focused" fields—may be the best preparation for success in the evolving workforce.
Proof of the workplace value of the humanities has been demonstrated time and again through statistics and longitudinal studies. But the best proof may come from individuals proclaiming that they are Proud Humanities Graduates!
In that spirit, we provide the resources below and encourage all of New Jersey's Proud Humanities Graduates to use them to populate their LinkedIn profiles.

LinkedIn Featured Section
To further signal your advocacy, consider adding the Humanities at Work marker to your profile's "Featured" section. Follow these steps to add it.
- Copy this URL: https://njhumanities.org/humanities-at-work
- Go to your LinkedIn Profile and scroll down to the Featured section. Note: If you don't have a Featured section yet, click the Add profile section button at the top of your profile, select Recommended, and then Add featured.
- Click the "+" icon in the Featured box and select Add a link.
- Paste the URL you copied and click Add.
- Review the Preview: A window will pop up showing your "Humanities at Work" graphic.
- Personalize it: You can use our language or yours! A recommended description is provided under the graphic on this page, but feel free to add a sentence about how your specific educational experiences have helped you succeed in your chosen profession.
- Click Save.
"Description" text (feel free to personalize!): I’m an advocate for humanities fields such as history, literature, and philosophy in the workforce. The humanities help us break free from the limitations of our individual experience and see both the perspectives of others and the larger social forces that affect us all.
