At this first meeting of the community of practice in 2025, we will be joined by Professors Stephanie Gomes (Rowan College of South Jersey) and Daniel Sheehan (Bergen Community College), who will offer short presentations about their experiences as participants in Princeton’s Community College Faculty Program.
At this first-ever meeting of the community of practice, new members are invited to gather virtually to get to know one another, share challenges and successes from their respective organizations, and to establish common ground for future discussions and group meetings.
NJCH's Community of Practice for Oral History and Storytelling will meet virtually on September 15, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. We will be catching up after the hiatus, with a check-in on member projects and a discussion about censorship.
NJCH's Community of Practice for Community College Humanities Professionals will meet virtually on October 16, 2025, from 4:00-5:15 p.m. We will be taking another deep dive into AI and higher ed.
NJCH's Community of Practice for Books & Reading will meet virtually on October 29, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., to discuss where resources and funding can be found to support literature and literacy in New Jersey.
NJCH's Community of Practice for Community College Humanities Professionals will meet virtually on November 13, 2025, from 4:00-5:15 p.m. We will be talking about the newly proposed Essential Skills Framework for general education, the role of the humanities in developing durable skills (also called soft skills), and the rise in micro-credentials.
