Offered by Atlantic Cape Community College, the 12-week Clemente Course in the Humanities is free and open to veterans regardless of discharge status or educational attainment
Veterans of the U.S. military residing in New Jersey can now enroll in a free, 12-week college-level course in the humanities taught by instructors at Atlantic Cape Community College.
A partnership of Atlantic Cape, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, and the Clemente Course in the Humanities, the class will explore themes of war and reconciliation. It is free and open to all veterans, regardless of discharge status and educational attainment. A high school diploma or GED is not required.

The Clemente Course in the Humanities has reached over 10,000 students around the world.
“Veterans have earned this opportunity,” said Carin Berkowitz, Ph.D., executive director of NJCH. “By exploring their experiences through literature, history, and philosophy, participants in this course can further their education and careers, become effective advocates for themselves and their families, and better engage in cultural and political life.”
