Prallsville Mills (Delaware River Mill Society)

Celebrating 50 years of preservation, the Delaware River Mill Society at Prallsville Mills is uncovering the stories of the people who shaped the mills over three centuries, seeking new ways to engage and educate today’s community.
As the Delaware River Mill Society celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is looking to make its sites and history more accessible and community-facing. The society manages the Prallsville Mills, a site with a preserved history of industry and community labor that spans more than two centuries.
The organization is participating in the program to brainstorm new ways to share the stories of the workers and families who lived around the mills and used the nearby canal. They aim to move toward a more holistic approach to interpretation, potentially using video, new exhibits, and enhanced signage to make meaningful connections between the past and today’s visitors.
