Through a documentary film, MUYU will document and celebrate the land-based narratives of marginalized, Indigenous, African, queer, and disabled creatives in the Northeast and New Jersey facing a rapid rate of displacement. The documentary will be screened at a community event.

“The rapid rate of displacement in the region is undoing a very carefully woven network of histories and lives. Our project is about survival and legacy work; even if in 5 years we are no longer here, it matters if there is a record that we once were,” said Yawa, organizer of MUYU.
