The application process for NJCH's Community History Program 2027 cohort is now open.
About Community History
Launched in 2021, NJCH's Community History Program is a nationally recognized model for empowering local organizations to research, document, and share the stories of their communities.
Over the past 7 years, the program has provided nearly 50 participating groups with expert instruction on public history practices, cohort-based guidance to develop projects, and startup funding to launch projects in their communities.
NJCH provides $1,000 in funding up front to support participation in the program. Participating organizations are eligible to apply for additional funding up to $5,000 to support the project they develop over the course of the program
Application

The application deadline is December 3.

Community History is not a grant program. The program emphasizes learning: we do not expect participants to have prior history training or experience.
