Voting meanings I have say in who gets elected, what laws get elected and how the government money is spent.

A good citizen is a person who pays attention to what is happening with the government, someone who volunteers to help elect good and righteous people, someone who helps others when they are in trouble, someone who is not afraid to fight against greed and fraud, overall someone who cares about people, all people.

Voting w/in your community can help to elect people you want to change the things in your community that you may dislike.

Elected officials who bully the citizens. Voter apathy. Voter suppression and intimidation. White supremacy. Lack of civic education, training, exposure, and competence. Poor communication channels.

Fulfilling your duty to vote. Holding elected officials accountable. Following the law. Working toward a better society and community. Attending public meetings.

Voting is important because our government officials make choices regarding our lives daily. Our voices and power as individuals may feel small, but voting truly does affect the community around us.

Voting allows the population to make decisions on who should be in what position and how they’ll be a good fit for the country.

Voting gives a citizen a sense of responsibility and allows them to choose future leaders who they think will make the country better. Voting is important because at the end of the day, the leaders who govern society are governing society for the people and their respective needs.

The main challenges facing democracy today are much of the electorate’s inability to think critically and to exert the necessary mental energy to research not just the issues, but workable and equitable solutions. A willfully uninformed public that prefers unverified opinions, even repetitive ranting, will be the undoing of our society no matter the form of government. We have seen what tyranny of the majority and moneyed interests have done to political discourse, pursuit of sound policies and the well-being of the nation as a whole. Demagoguery and jingoism coupled with authoritarian populism are readying to tear our house down. More credible, serious media coverage, a cessation of algorithmic pandering in an atmosphere of real civics education may be the the beginning of the long arduous way forward to a truly a civil society.

Voting is important to me because I cannot complain about the way things are run by our elected officials if I don’t participate in the process of choosing who governs us.
