Karen Gaffney, PhD is an English professor at Raritan Valley Community College. Her book, Dismantling the Racism Machine: A Manual and Toolbox (published by Routledge), is an accessible introduction to race and racism with tools for action. She presents at national conferences, serves on the steering committee of the Hunterdon County Anti-Racism Coalition in NJ, co-facilitates the Community Course on Racism based in Somerville, NJ, and manages the anti-racism website Divided No Longer (available at www.dividednolonger.com).
