We’re excited to share that our new strategic plan, which includes a revised mission statement and new values statement, has been approved by the NJCH Board of Trustees. That plan was developed in great part in response to the feedback we received from our friends, partners, and other stakeholders across the state. We are proud of and committed to the results, which you will find here.
To achieve our mission and act according to the values that we espouse, we have developed three core goals that will guide our work over the next three years:
- to strengthen NJCH’s role as a convener
- to expand and diversify the humanities
- and to advocate for the advancement of the humanities.
In the next few years, you can expect to see more NJCH programs that bring organizations together, that build humanities-related capacity in non-humanities-based organizations in a way that broadens our reach, and that give individual people an opportunity to tell stories about how the humanities have touched their communities or shaped their educations and careers.
As we begin to implement the strategic plan, we will chart our progress toward achieving the plan’s goals on our website, so please do follow us on this journey. We also encourage you to stay in touch, sending thoughts and suggestions as we go along.
Thank you very much for your input, your expertise, and your commitment to the public humanities.
