Fundamental concepts of liberty, security civic duty, and state power, especially in the context of the 21st century, can be challenging topics to explore. Starting from session participants concerns and interests, a real discussion about expectations and empowerment will prompt critical thinking and engagement.

Special Projects Manager, Jersey City Police Department
Troy Robert Mack works as Special Projects Manager in the Jersey City Police Department, via Jersey City’s Americorps VISTA program. Through a fellowship provided by The Mission Continues, a national veterans service organization, Mack also serves as Project Lead and Northeast Regional Coordinator at Veterans for American Ideals, a nonpartisan, nonprofit project of Human Rights First. A former U.S. Army Chaplain and Iraq War veteran, Mack received his Ph.D. in Philosophical Studies from Drew University.
