The humanities help us understand our own history, values, culture, and beliefs and those of others—those very same things that bring us together and make us feel part of a group, make our experiences less lonely.

With your support, we can deepen our impact in communities throughout New Jersey through programs and initiatives that empower members of New Jersey communities to discover, preserve, share, and celebrate their distinctive histories and cultures.

  • Reached 830,000+ individuals in NJ & beyond

General Operating Support

While general operating support does not sound as exciting as program-specific funds, it's equally important. It literally helps us keep the lights on, as well as enabling us to do the important day-to-day work of bringing the public humanities to New Jerseyans.

Programs Fund

The programs fund enables us to reach humanities professionals and everyday New Jerseyans throughout the Garden State through new and innovative programming, such as our nationally recognized Community History program and our new Humanities Lab.

Matching Gifts and Planned Giving

Many employers offer matching gift programs, in which they match contributions from their employees to nonprofit organizations. Inquire with your employer to see if they offer a matching gift program—it's an easy way to double the impact of your donation!

If you are interested in leaving a legacy through the public humanities and would like to include NJCH in your will, trust, or other planned gift, please contact us. Your gift could have a lasting impact on New Jersey Communities.
