DESCRIPTION:NJCH is proud to support Piscataway Public Library’s “Food for Thought\,” a series of events exploring the cultural and historical significance of food in our lives\, through an Action Grant. \n— \nDo you love eating seasonally? Want to learn how to make the local fruit season last all year? Join Library staff to learn the basics! In this class\, you’ll learn how to preserve fresh fruit as jams and jellies (and more). July is just the start of the produce season in New Jersey — we’ll get you started with recipes and demonstrate the equipment you’ll need for a successful season of canning! \nRegistration is required via the library website. \nThe Food for Thought project was made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities\, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
