SUMMARY:Humanities Forward: Creating Community in Times of Crisis (Central Jersey)
DESCRIPTION:The New Jersey Council for the Humanities will host a series of gatherings for organizations\, professionals\, and supporters across the state to discuss the current state of the humanities\, funding\, and how NJCH can continue to support critical humanities work in New Jersey. \nGatherings will be held in locations across the state during spring\, with a purpose to set aside space and time to share information\, listen\, and brainstorm about ways to overcome the current challenges posed by the gutting of the National Endowment for the Humanities. \nWe’ll also help answer your questions on what has happened in the past few weeks and the current state of funding for the state. \nThis event\, held at the Trent House Museum\, is offered to be most convenient for individuals in the Central Jersey region. SUMMARY:The Moving Architects Crane House & Historic YWCA Work-in-Progress Community Showing
DESCRIPTION:Join The Moving Architects dance company for a special work-in-progress showing featuring their NJCH grant-funded Crane House & Historic YWCA Performance Project! The event will include a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the project’s choreography and development\, with historical insight from Montclair History Center Executive Director Angelica Diggs and TMA Artistic Director Erin Carlisle Norton.  The event will also feature a new dance film premiere and a performance by local community dancers from TMA’s Performance Workshops. Drinks\, wine\, and snacks will be available for purchase to support the project. \nThe event will be held in the Assembly Room of Union Congregational Church in Montclair.
