“The Ground Upon Which We Stand”

A one-hour excerpt of the multi-writer, site-specific play about the historic Howe House in Montclair, NJ. Featuring selected Genesis Festival writers: Kathleen McGhee-Anderson, Mo Schlick, TyLie Shider, and Richard Wesley. Conceived by Ari Laura Kreith, and Directed by Ricardo Khan. A Crossroads Collaboration with Luna Stage.

The Ground on Which We Stand explores the history and impact of The James Howe House from 1780 to the present day. The Howe House is the first property in the Township of Montclair to be owned by an African American and formerly enslaved person, and has been the site of much current controversy.
