Being a good citizen means contributing to matters that you feel are important, whether it is voting, helping local businesses, or helping others in need, your actions benefit those around you.
What do you remember about the first time you voted?
My first presidential election was Bush v. Gore. At the time Gore (prev VP) was in the shadows of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal. Gore was pushing an environmental agenda, something that spoke to me as a millenial. Now look at us! We all hot and fat!
Making your community a better place. Doing something to help others like: cleaning up rubbish, planting more trees, and volunteering at an organization that makes our commuinty a better place.
My grandparents and great-grandparents were refugees from totalitarian countries. They valued the rule of law here and never failed to vote. So I vote every time.
I remember the powerless of being a teenager in November 2000, feeling like I didn’t have a voice in what was going on. Even if my side doesn’t succeed, I want to try.
