The New Jersey Council for the Humanities believes that public health and safety are top priorities. At this time, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), a respiratory disease originating in China, has been detected in approximately nearly 100 countries around the globe. Several cases have now been confirmed in our region.
If there are any public humanities events associated with the NJCH grant program or the Public Scholars Project that need to be rescheduled due to public health concerns, NJCH is committed to working with any organization in making those arrangements. Any programming partner should feel empowered to make event decisions that meet the needs of its public audience(s). We expect all organizations to provide any/all updates regarding postponements and cancellations to NJCH, so we are able to update our records and calendars as well as oversee scheduling efforts for make-up events. Organizations that postpone or cancel due to public health concerns will be afforded the same support that was initially provided by NJCH once the COVID-19 outbreak is stabilized.
We are monitoring the situation carefully and will provide links to information and updates as it becomes available. In the meantime, you can access information about COVID-19 here. Please direct any programming questions or feedback to NJCH staff; we’re here to help.
